The country obtained 3,300 million in 2021 in this type of taxes, far behind Germany, Italy or France
Spain is at the tail end of the great European powers in the taxation of transport. In 2021, according to figures released on Friday by the Tax Agency with data from Eurostat, the country collected just over 3,300 million with taxes that act on all types of transport, well below the volume that moves in partners such as Italy (12,400 million), Germany (10,000 million) or France (7,800 million), the other three large economies of the European Union. Spain also registers worse figures than other Member States such as the Netherlands or Belgium.
