Spain registers its historical maximum of energy independence in 2021

The Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge has just published the Environmental Profile of Spain (PAE) 2021, an analysis of the environmental health situation of our country that has more than 100 environmental indicators divided into five areas of knowledge. One of them, Energy and Climate, has brought several historical records this year: maximum of the century (series 2000-2021) of energy independence (according to the PAE21, the degree of dependence has fallen to 68.9%; historical maximum of electricity generation of renewable origin (46.7%); and historical minimum of CO emissions₂ equivalent associated with national electricity generation, 35.9 million tons of_CO2 equivalent.
