International experts gathered at the seventh edition of Starmus, in Slovakia, recall that no weather modification has happened so fast in the history of the Earth
Seek hope. It is the motto that moves the same scientists who are trying to find a solution to the serious threat posed by the rise in sea level, the increase and voracity of fires, the greater magnitude of hurricanes or the arrival of floods once unimaginable due to global warming. This year the planet is suffering an unprecedented rise in temperatures, having reached the fearsome degree and a half of warming above pre-industrial times. But in this scenario, renowned figures of science have invited, at the seventh edition of the Starmus Festival, held this week in Bratislava (Slovakia), to make a deeper reflection on the lifestyle of humanity and action. In this edition, the Starmus Festival, which was born with the purpose of disseminating space science, wanted to adapt to the new times and give a twist to its initial purpose. Thus, for the first time, it has included among its panelists climate scientists, who during the first session of the event, entitled ‘The Future of our home planet’, insisted on the need to take action to protect our home, “a unique planet in the universe that has given rise to something as incredible as humanity”, as highlighted by the science communicator David Eicher, who acted as master of ceremonies during the first session, which took place yesterday in Bratislava (Slovakia).
