Ribera expects EU countries to agree “in weeks” the electricity reform

The Spanish vice president and minister for the Ecological Transition, Teresa Ribera, believes it is possible that the EU countries agree in “the coming weeks” a common approach on the reform of the electricity market that allows to start the final negotiation with the European Parliament.

“I am optimistic that there will be an agreement in the coming weeks,” Ribera said after meeting in Brussels with Maros Sefcovic, the vice president of the European Commission in charge of coordinating the Green Deal after the departure of Frans Timmermans to run in the legislative elections in the Netherlands.
