Proposals for more “innovation” at IEA meeting to tackle the energy transition

Financing the global energy transition will require more innovation, both technological and financial, said some of the more than 30 energy and climate ministers who met in Paris on Tuesday to discuss how to tackle this task.

To deal with the global warming that “is happening” right now, the energy world must evolve toward greater “innovation,” urged U.S. Climate Emissary John Kerry.
The meeting, held until Wednesday on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Paris-based International Energy Agency (IEA), was also attended by the ministers of Colombia, Costa Rica, Egypt, Singapore and Ukraine, among others.
