Pro-nuclear call for equal treatment in funding

A group of 11 pro-nuclear European Union (EU) countries, led by France, has called on the European Commission (EC) to support the equitable use of nuclear energy in the green transition, the French energy ministry said on Wednesday.

Although nuclear power was included in July 2022 in the EU taxonomy as a green investment, the industry has not received the same treatment as renewables in legislation or financing, the countries said in a paper submitted to the EC and shared by the ministry.
