European airlines ask for more support from Brussels for their biofuel targets

Targeted funding, risk reduction tools and import simplification are at the top of Airlines’ wish list for Europe for the EU’s upcoming Sustainable Transport Investment Plan.

The pan-European aviation lobby Airlines for Europe has warned in a document sent this week to the European Commission that the European Union (EU) must take “immediate action” to support the deployment of sustainable aviation fuels or it will have to delay its 2030 climate targets, which mandate the use of such “biofuels”.
