IRENA Assembly outlines ambitious energy transition agenda for 2026

Energy leaders will drive the next chapter of the global energy transition, mobilizing action for inclusive growth, prosperity and long-term resilience through renewables

The 16th Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is being held from 10 to 12 January 2026 in Abu Dhabi, marking the first international meeting of the year on energy.

Under the theme “Powering Humanity: Renewable Energy for Shared Prosperity”, the global meeting will bring together 1500 participants, including ministers and high-level delegates from IRENA’s 171 Member States, as well as CEOs, investors, international organizations and young people with the aim of building a shared agenda and defining priorities for international cooperation for an energy future around which the international community can mobilize in 2026.
