The EU Nuclear Alliance demands that Brussels invest more and recognise nuclear energy as fully sustainable

Fifteen European countries are calling on the European Commission to change the green taxonomy and more funding for nuclear projects, including small modular reactors.

Fifteen countries of the so-called Nuclear Alliance have called on the European Commission to take more concrete measures to boost investment in nuclear energy in the European Union. Governments are calling for improving the criteria of the European taxonomy of sustainable investments so that this technology is recognised as fully sustainable.

The request was made after a meeting held in Brussels on the sidelines of the EU Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council.

The meeting brought together ministers and representatives from Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia and Sweden.
