International scientists warn that the planet is on the brink of an “irreversible climate disaster”

The study reveals that of the 35 vital signs that are monitored annually, 25 have reached critical levels, the worst ever recorded.

In a recent climate report published in the scientific journal BioScience, a group of international scientists warned that the planet is on the brink of an “irreversible climate disaster”. The study reveals that of the 35 vital signs that are monitored annually, 25 have reached critical levels, the worst ever recorded. These vital signs include key factors such as ocean temperature, water acidity, and global sea level.

The main cause
Human-made greenhouse gases are the main drivers of this climate crisis, according to the report. 90% of these emissions come from the burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas, while the rest is the product of deforestation and other processes of environmental destruction imposed by human beings. Carbon dioxide and methane emissions continue to rise, despite global attempts to reduce them, exacerbating the climate situation.
