Iberdrola and other energy companies urge the EU to protect the market from_CO2 emissions to be competitive

Eight large European electricity companies are calling for protecting the emissions market and accelerating decarbonisation to ensure Europe’s competitiveness.

Eight major European electricity companies, including Iberdrola, have expressed their firm desire for the leaders of the Council and the European Commission to protect the European Union’s emissions market and strengthen the continent’s competitiveness. In a letter addressed to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, António Costa, the energy companies ask for protection for the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), preservation of the internal electricity market, as well as the acceleration of decarbonisation.
