Greenhouse gas emissions in Europe fall by 2.9% annually in the first quarter of 2023

Despite the reduction in EU greenhouse gas emissions during the first quarter of 2023, those of the transport and storage sector have increased by 72%.

In the first quarter of 2023, greenhouse gas emissions from the European Union economy amounted to 941 million tonnes of CO₂ equivalents, representing an annual decrease of 2.9%.
