Delivering on the Paris Agreement is ‘increasingly challenging’, study finds

The feasibility of meeting the objectives of the Paris Agreement is “increasingly challenging” due to, among others, institutional limitations; Even with express decarbonization, the world only has a 5-50% chance of keeping peak warming below 1.6 degrees.
This is one of the conclusions of a study led by the Center for Global Sustainability (CGS) at the University of Maryland.
Published in the journal Nature Climate Change, it underscores the critical challenges to meeting the long-term goals of the Paris Agreement given recent trends in global emissions.
