Eurometal urges the EU to extend the scope of the CBAM mechanism to processed products

Euro metal, the European Association of Steel, Tube and Metal Distributors, has joined 19 other European industry associations and the European union industriAll in signing a joint statement calling for the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) to be expanded to cover the widest possible range of products, including recycled products. This is stated by the association in a press release.

Looking ahead to the next round of trilogue negotiations, scheduled for 20 October, the signatories urged the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission to reach an ambitious agreement to protect industrial value chains, investments and jobs in Europe.
