Spain joins 100 countries in scientific commitment to monitor the Paris Agreement

This call was made three days before the start of the 62nd meeting of the IPCC, which will be held between February 24 and 28 in Hangzhou (China), in which the schedule for the preparation of the reports of the seventh evaluation cycle of the UN panel of experts will be established. Several groups of countries expressed concern that timing will be delayed and that these reports will not be allowed to arrive in time for the next Global Stocktake, the tool used to monitor its implementation and assess collective progress towards agreed targets. The second Global Stocktake sets 2028 as the deadline for receiving scientific inputs.
