“Governments must accelerate action and the private sector must also play its part,” said Fatih Birol

Thus, the organization’s analysis reveals that in order to achieve the goal set at the end of last year at the climate conference – doubling the rate of progress of 2% per year in climate efficiency – “governments must accelerate action and the private sector must also play its part,” Birol stressed. More than 500 participants from some 70 countries (including 27 Africans) attended the conference held in the Kenyan capital on Tuesday and Wednesday to address the global challenge, marking the first time the meeting had been held in Africa.
