BSC and AEMET partner to improve emissions representation systems

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS) and the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) have partnered to improve the representation of atmospheric emissions and complete air quality prediction systems and greenhouse gas (GHG) monitoring systems in Spain.

BSC and AEMET are working together to develop more accurate pollutant emission systems for predicting air quality and monitoring greenhouse gases.

The collaboration between the BSC and AEMET is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. One of the main actions they will carry out consists of the development of a national emissions system at very high spatial resolution (up to 1 km x 1 km) and temporal (hourly), which will cover all the autonomous communities, including the Canary Islands for the first time.
