Some climate models point to global warming of 3°C, compared to the pre-industrial era, by 2050

In 2024, when the global average temperature exceeded the warming limit set by the Paris Agreement, 1.5°C, a climate emergency alert was declared.
At the end of September, a report by the German Meteorological Society warned that the 3°C warming limit could be exceeded in 25 years.

Will the limit set by the Paris Agreement be doubled by 2050?

For the first time in 2024, the global average temperature of 15.1°C exceeded the critical threshold of 1.5°C increase from pre-industrial levels, marking a warming of 1.6°C. The European Copernicus Center and NASA, as well as other scientific centers, have confirmed that 2024 was the hottest year on record since 1850, the year records began. From June 2023 to August 2024, the planet experienced 15 consecutive months of record-breaking heat. Faced with this, numerous reactions have been generated. Based on the warming scenarios assessed and published in the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) RA6 report, this 3°C warming scenario by 2050 is considered extremely unlikely, although it cannot be completely ruled out.
