A Eurostat report shows the EU’s regression in terms of biodiversity and water targets.

The greatest progress was made on SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth). The EU has also made significant progress on SDG 12 (responsible consumption and production), SDG 10 (reduced inequalities), SDG 5 (gender equality) and SDG 4 (quality education). The bloc has stalled on SDG 17 (partnerships to achieve the Goals) and has regressed on SDG 15 (life on land) and SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation). Eurostat has published a monitoring report on progress towards the SDGs in the EU. The report finds that over the past five to six years with available data, the EU has made moderate or significant progress towards most of the SDGs, albeit at varying rates. The data also reveal that the EU has stalled on SDG 17 (partnerships to achieve the Goals) and has regressed on SDG 15 (life on land) and SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation). Eurostat’s assessment indicates significant progress on five SDGs. The greatest progress, he notes, was achieved in SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth).
