Conflict, trade fragmentation, and competition for resources have brought energy security to the forefront, while recent crises have once again highlighted the vulnerability that comes with dependence on fossil fuels. This context reinforces one of the central messages of this report: beyond the climate imperative, the energy transition is increasingly a key means of achieving energy security.
