Argentina, Chile, Bolivia and Peru signed a joint declaration on strategic minerals to deepen regional cooperation, attract investment and strengthen supply chains for copper, lithium and other resources considered critical for the energy transition, electromobility and the development of artificial intelligence. The agreement was signed on August 28 in Santiago during the first ministerial meeting of the four countries dedicated specifically to this agenda. The document was signed by Chile’s Bi-Minister of Economy and Mining, Daniel Mas; Argentina’s Secretary of Mining, Luis Lucero; Bolivia’s Deputy Minister of Mining Policy, Regulation and Inspection, Walter Landívar; and Peru’s Minister of Energy and Mines, Guillermo Shinno.
