In the European Union, reforms in the “Fit for 55” package included the incorporation of the maritime sector and the upcoming launch of a second system. China expanded the sectoral coverage of its national system to include other sectors, and international cooperation remains key to aligning these systems and avoiding market fragmentation. Initiatives such as ICAP, among others, are facilitating collaboration.
