Through 2030, electricity consumption is projected to grow at least 2.5 times faster than overall energy demand. Emerging economies remain the main pillar of demand growth. While India and Southeast Asia are projected to increasingly drive the increase in energy demand over the next decade, China is projected to remain the largest contributor to global electricity demand growth until 2030.
