The Common Ground Taxonomy, supported by Singapore, will be unveiled at COP29

This will make the city-state the first jurisdiction outside of China and the EU to directly participate in an exercise to increase the interoperability of global taxonomies, which was launched in 2020. Last updated in 2022, the CGT currently recognizes 72 climate mitigation activities between the Chinese and EU taxonomies. This will be expanded on in the “Joint Multijurisdictional Taxonomy,” or MCGT, to be announced on Nov. 14 in Baku, Azerbaijan, said Ma Jun, co-chair of the International Platform for Sustainable Finance and co-chair of the CGT working group.
