The 27 commit to ambitious green electrification

The leaders of the 27 EU countries pledged on Friday to carry out “ambitious” electrification with net-zero and low-CO2 emissions solutions as part of their strategic agenda to guide the bloc’s policymaking over the next five years. The 27 heads of state and government said after meeting in Brussels that they want the bloc to continue its transition to becoming a net-zero economy by 2050, focusing more on global competitiveness and energy independence. They pledged to build “a genuine energy union” that guarantees “an abundant, affordable and clean energy supply”.
