EU and Australia sign partnership agreement on critical and strategic minerals

The EU seeks to diversify its supplies of materials needed for the green and digital transitions.

The EU and Australia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a bilateral partnership in which both will cooperate for the procurement of critical and strategic minerals and raw materials.

On behalf of the EU, the agreement was signed by the Executive Vice-President and Commissioner for Trade, Valdis Dombrovskis, and the Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, and on behalf of Australia, the Minister for Resources, Madeleine King, and the Minister for Trade and Tourism, Don Farrell.
