Spain is one of the three European countries that must allocate the most investment to the installation of OPS to meet its energy demand

The two programmes that articulate the decarbonisation of the maritime mode at the European level through the electrification of docks, Fuel EU Maritime and the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), will only contribute to reducing the total emissions of ships moored in the continent’s ports by 25%. Both regulations are intended to enter into force in 2030, but their impact will be limited if they do not cover more types of ships in their regulations, or extend their effect to venues that are outside the TEN-T network.
