UN: World Not on Track to Meet Paris Agreement Climate Goals

Global emissions are not in line with the mitigation models that allow these objectives to be achieved and time is running out

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has reported that the world is not on track to meet the long-term climate goals of the Paris Agreement, according to the first official assessment that has been published on the matter. “Contrary to forecasts,” the Paris Agreement has facilitated “almost universal” contributions against climate change, which “have significantly reduced forecasts of future warming,” says the technical report published by the Bonn-based agency (Germany).
