EU, China and Canada prepare the ground together for COP28

The European Union, China and Canada began a two-day preparatory meeting on Thursday for COP28, where they will try to set the global goal of tripling renewable capacity and doubling energy efficiency by 2030, as well as increasing climate finance.

“We are halfway between Paris (2015) and 2030 but we all know that we are not at all close to the destination we had set,” warned in his opening speech the designated president of the COP28 to be held at the end of the year in Dubai, Sultan Al Jaber.
