EU Environment Commissioner warns of risk of regressing in transition

The European Commissioner for the Environment, Virginijus Sinkevicius, says that there are “very high risks” of taking steps backwards in the ecological transition and advocated introducing new indicators to calculate economic growth that take into account sustainability, reports Efe. “In a world with limited resources, the green transition is the only thing that offers us unlimited potential for a future in which we can live,” said Sinkevicius in his speech at the conference Beyond growth, organized by the European Parliament.
