These are the Spanish companies that emitted the most gases into the atmosphere in 2022

Ten companies emitted 60.5 percent of emissions subject to carbon markets and around 20.5 percent of all emissions in Spain

Spain increased its emissions subject to the CO2 market by 9 percent in 2022. However, among the most polluting companies are also those that reduced them to a greater extent, according to the Report of the Sustainability Observatory and GrandMother: ‘Decarbonization 2023: Europe, Spain and autonomous communities’. Castilla y León, Cantabria and Madrid, the Autonomous Communities that reduced their CO2 emissions the most compared to Murcia and La Rioja.
