Work remains to be done, such as conducting key climate reports and addressing the future of chemicals management and marine biodiversity. In some cases, delays may be partly attributed to the lasting effects of COVID disruptions. The IPCC approved the overdue reports of Working Groups II (Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability) and III (Mitigation) in 2022, while the synthesis report was further delayed, until 2023.
