Spain has 53,000 projects underway thanks to European funds

Calviño already negotiates the plan to opt for the additional 7,700 million euros planned for the Spanish economy

The European funds received by Spain linked to the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan have allowed 50,000 companies to launch 53,000 projects valued at more than 11,000 million euros so far. “It’s impressive,” said the economic vice president, Nadia Calviño during the closing of the first annual event in Spain on the Recovery, Recovery and Resilience Plan. This plan has allowed to reach a rhythm of more than 2,000 million euros per month in calls for tenders for aid or public works.

Calviño stressed that to date more than 100 sectoral conferences have been held and more than 18,300 million euros have been allocated to the autonomous communities. For the period from 2021 to 2023, 26% of the recovery funds have been allocated to local entities, just over 17,600 million to which are added the 3,000 million of the PERTE of water. Thanks to these transfers, projects are being developed that reach almost 25,000 beneficiaries, of which more than 8,000 are companies.

The vice president has listed the eleven Strategic Projects for Economic Recovery and Transformation (Perte) approved by the Government and has valued the reforms promoted so far, placing special emphasis on labor “which has allowed to Europeanize the labor market and solve one of the main burdens of the Spanish economy. ”

Calviño recalled that he is negotiating the preparation of the addendum to the Recovery Plan, which he plans to approve before the end of the year to mobilize the 7,700 million euros of additional transfers assigned to Spain and the more than 84,000 million euros in loans.

The vice president has indicated that the “priority” of the Government in the last two years has been the execution of the Recovery Plan, which has allowed that already in 2022 “cruising speed” is being reached.
