EU raises fees for airlines for emitting_CO2 on intra-European flights

Free emission credits will be phased out from 2024 and will no longer exist in 2026

The institutions of the European Union have agreed on Wednesday a review of the regulations on emissions of the aviation sector that will increase the rate paid by airlines for carbon dioxide (CO₂) that liberalize their flights between countries of the bloc, with an exception for the outermost regions until 2030.
