It has been the year of gas. It should be noted that renewable energies continue to break records, but 2022 will be remembered as the year in which the combined cycle of gas resurrected and returned to be the first source of energy in Spain. Something that has not happened since 2010.

Gas surpassed wind and nuclear. Once the year has ended, Red Eléctrica de España has reviewed the generation and confirms what we have been seeing for months. Gas has become the first source of generation, accounting for 24.8% of the entire mix. Well above the roughly 17% it had in 2021.
