Climate package “Objective 55”: Agreements on several provisions will be formalized in 2023

The year 2022 closed with provisional agreements between the European Parliament and the Council of the EU on several of the provisions included in the climate package “Objective 55” (Fit for 55) that affect the agricultural sector, such as the regulation for the application of a carbon tax scheme at the borders of the EU, the effort-sharing text and the text on land use, land-use change and forestry (the so-called LULUCF sector). In 2023, these agreements must be formalized and put in place.
