Despite international efforts, ecosystem degradation continues at an alarming rate. Ecosystems are essential for our survival, as they are the basis of Resilience. Ecosystem restoration will also help prevent and increase resilience to potential future communicable diseases, thereby reducing the risks of outbreaks and pandemics, and help support global and EU efforts to implement the One Health approach.
