Direct air capture 2022. A Key Technology for Net Zero, IEA, Technology Report: April 2022.

This report explores direct air capture (DAC), in relation to net zero emissions targets. Direct air capture plays a growing role in zero-emission routes, as capturing CO₂ directly from the air and storing it permanently removes CO₂ from the atmosphere, providing a way to balance hard-to-avoid emissions, including from long-distance transport and heavy industry, and offering a solution for legacy emissions.
