The Spanish Nuclear Industry Forum presents the ENERGY 2020 handbook, providing updated data and information on the national and global energy context. Regarding the energy indicators, it is estimated that the primary energy demand has decreased by 1.4% and the final energy demand has grown by 1.6%. Nuclear energy continues to be consolidated as the source of generation with the greatest contribution to the national electricity system with 55,824 net GWh —4.9% higher than the previous year—, which represents 21.4% of the total. For its part, the production of renewable, cogeneration and waste technologies amounted to 104,944 GWh, 7.4% higher than the previous year. Of that amount, 72% corresponded to renewable energies and the remaining 28% to cogeneration and waste treatment.
