European Environmental Report: status and prospects 2020.

This EEA report analyzes the implications for Europe of the impact of global climate change on agricultural trade. He states that this will alter the regional conditions for crop growth and the incidence of pests. Although global agricultural production is not expected to decline before 2050, suitable production areas will change, annual yields will become more variable, and the volatility of agricultural commodity prices will increase. This will affect farming patterns, international trade and regional markets. It concludes that more EU support is needed as announced in the draft of the new adaptation strategy.
