Monthly Electricity Statistics

Updated monthly, this IEA report provides data on electricity production and trade for all member countries of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). In January 2021, the total net electricity production in the OECD was 963.2 TWh, 3.3% more than in January 2020. It highlights that coal energy production was 11.0% higher than in January 2020. Renewable electricity production was 2.2% higher than in December 2020 and was responsible for 30.1% of total electricity production, with hydropower production accounting for 15.1% of the total electricity mix , 7.6% more than in January 2020.
