Draft Royal Decree for the partial transposition of Directive 2018/2001, regarding the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources

The purpose of this Royal Decree is the partial transposition of Directive 2018/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of December 11, 2018, regarding the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources. It deals with the regulation of sustainability criteria and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions for biofuels, bioliquids and biomass fuels and the energy efficiency requirements demanded of electricity generation facilities; required to qualify for financial aid for the consumption of said fuels and to be able to be computed in the calculation of community and national objectives in the field of renewable energy, as well as the way of verifying compliance with these criteria. It also sets the objective established for the use of energy from renewable sources in all forms of transport and the regulation of a System of Guarantees of Origin for gas from renewable sources.
