The CO ₂ compensation fund for large industry will cover 90% of applications

The compensation mechanism for indirect _CO2 emissions costs will cover at least 90% of applications received by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, as reported by the minister on Thursday to Congress in her appearance in Committee.

Moreover, during his appearance before the Committee on Industry, Trade and Tourism he has assured that his department hopes to be able to start granting aid “in the coming days”.

Maroto explained to the Commission that this aid procedure is being reviewed within the framework of the European Commission for the next two years and the Government’s position in this regard, he said, is that “the maximum budget” can be achieved.

AUCTION BEFORE THE END OF THE YEAR

In his review of the measures aimed at alleviating the high energy bill of the industry, Maroto mentioned that the latest package of measures approved by the Government includes an auction to enable forward contracting.

In this sense, he has assured that he meets one of the great demands of the industry for a long time and has pointed out that the forecast is to be able to hold an auction before the end of the year.

Another measure approved is the Spanish Reserve Fund for the Guarantees of Electrointensive Entities, endowed with 200 million euros to lower the bill of large industry and try to stabilize prices and facilitate investment in plants.
