The European race towards climate neutrality has found a new protagonist that, until recently, went unnoticed under the shadow of renewable electrification. Biogenic CO2 (that which comes from sustainable biomass and the organic fraction of waste) is consolidating itself as a critical investment niche to decarbonise sectors that are “difficult to abate”. According to the recent analysis shared by InnoEnergy and the consulting firm PwC, this market is not only an environmental solution, but an industrial lever that will transform the European CleanTech ecosystem in the next decade.
